Spain! / Espana!

So here I am in October to tell you about our Summer in Spain, doesn't this give you a hint of how crazy life is in this country? I need 36 hours in my day to do everything that needs to get done :-)
Sooo...where to begin?? Well, the best thing is to begin saying what a wonderful trip we had...as always...I went with the girls for a total of almost 6 weeks and Craig joined us the last 3 weeks. The 3 girls did great and didn't notice the time change (9 hours!!!). We were blessed to have them sleeping 12 hours at night and awake during the day since day 1! We first spent a couple of weeks in my hometown,Oviedo, at my parents' house and then joined the rest of the family at the Summer House in Ovinana, we love it there, it's awesome to have a full house and see all my family interact with my kids. The family, life style, time to enjoy, nice weather...always make the perfect vacation. This year was extra special since we baptized the twins there. Craig's parents and grandma came from the US to share this special day with us, it was fun and a memorable day. Thanks to my grandma Lele for organizing all this. Thanks to Tol and my grandma Presen for having us and always taking care of us, thanks to my parents for making sure we got everything we needed, thanks to my whole family for always being there for me, for spending time with us and for loving us unconditionally, you always make it so hard to say good-bye. And thanks to my husband whose hard work allows us to make this wonderful trip every year. I have a ton of pictures as you can imagine but I am still having problems posting them the way I want in the blog so here are just a couple, hope you like them.

TWINS TURN ONE!!! LAS GEMELINAS CUMPLEN UN ANIO!!!

Hi! I don't have time to write anything, I am in the middle of packing for the new house, packing for Spain, painters, movers etc...but I wanted to tell you that last Friday the twins turned one!!! We didn't do anything special because Craig was at Pebble Beach at the US Open so Granma and Grandpa came over together with aunt Kris and cousin David and the twins enjoyed a yummy cupcake and opened a few presents. They are so cute!! Hugs and kisses!!

Hola!

This past weekend was a busy one (nothing new). On Saturday Clara had her first ballet recital and it was sooo cute, she did such a good job...It was funny and I couldn't stop laughing, she is so cute!
Here are a couple of pictures with her costume. Then, her cousin Maggie came to spend the night. Clara loves Maggie and had a lot of fun with her.
On Sunday, we had the McGlones over. Our good friends who now live in Buffalo. Mike is one of Craig closest friends and they had good times at UCSB together! They have two kids, Julian who is 2 1/2 and Romy who will be one at the end of the month. She was born just one week after the twins. Both kids are really cute. You can see them in one of the pictures below. Busy weeks ahead so not sure when I will be able to post again but as always, I will try my best. XOX.

Besos!

Last week, on Friday, we went with some friends to have breakfast with Mickey and friends. It was a lot of fun! Food was delicious and the characters had some activities planned for the little kids. It was a fun morning!

Here I am again, later than I would have liked but...oh man, life is crazy in this country :) We have been really busy since my last post, everything good and exciting but it seems like it's always non stop.
May was a fun month full of birthdays, including mine! We had a lot of fun...and the best present was that we got a new house! Yeap! We found this cute house in this awesome neighborhood and it was on my birthday that we found out our offer had been accepted!! How exciting and stressful!!! That means...once again we have to pack, pack to move into the new house, pack to go to Spain (we leave in less than a month), keep this house decent because the owner is showing it to find a new tenant, ballet recital, last weeks of work, Craig gone for a week, my mom arriving on the 27th, moving out on the 29th...anyhow, a lot going on but very exciting. We are blessed with our lives and we know it and thank God everyday for that.
Besides my birthday we also had our wedding anniversary...7 years married! and 10 together!! Time really flies...who would have thought that I would end up marrying an American and having 3 beautiful girls...I couldn't have asked for anything else. Craig and I enjoyed a nice dinner at our favorite restaurat Walts Wharf in Seal Beach. I do really enjoy our date nights because it is really our only time to communicate and share what is going in our lives.
Weather has been finally nice... For Memorial weekend we had the family over for a barbecue and it was a lot of fun. The picture above is of the girls enjoying the nice weather in the backyard.

The trip to Spain is almost here, I am very excited to go back and visit my family and bring the twins for the first time, everybody is looking forward to meeting them and spending some time with the 3 girls. Craig will go 3 weeks later so we are going to miss him, it is always hard when we have to be away from each other but time goes by so fast, he will be there with us in no time enjoying my beautiful country. This year, Chic and Ellen are coming also! and Corky, Craig's grandma, they all wanted to be present at the twins' baptism and we are very happy to be able to have them there and share that moment with them.
My niece and goddaughter, Carmen, got her First Communion this past Saturday, I am sorry I missed such an important day in her life but I was thinking about her the whole time. My mom told me all about it the next day. She wore the dress that I wore for my First Communion, isnt that amazing? I love passing stuff from generation to generation, I think it's so cool... Also, my brother Pablo is turning 40 this month, I cannot believe it! It seems like yesterday when we were still in school and fighting for the white side of the Nutella :)
Anyhow, it's late, I just wanted to give a little update and share all the good news with you guys. Hope to be back soon although...I am not sure it will be before Spain. Hugs and kisses. Ali

Muchos besos. Ali

Mother's day/ Dia de la madre

Today was Mother's day and what a great day I had with my family. Craig made sure I got to relax today and I did! He took care of the kids in the morning so I didn't get up until 7:40 am which is really a treat taking into account I am up not later than 7 am everyday feeding everybody and getting Clara ready for school. I woke up to a beautiful bouquet of flowers and Clara made me this cute neckless at school, what a great job she did. You can see the picture here. Craig and Clara made a delicious breakfast consisting of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, coffee and orange juice! I was FULL. After that we went to mass and then to have something to eat with some friends of ours and their kids. Got home, fed the twins and adioooosss! I went shopping by myself!! Yes!! No pushing double strollers trying to get by and no "excuse us" :) I got a few cute clothes that actually fit me good (finally! after almost a year!) and a these pink cute sweaters for the twins. Then I went to pick up the pictures from that fundraiser I told you about in my last post and went home. Then the 5 of us were playing in the backyard and it was a lot of fun. It was the twins' first time touching the grass and let me tell you, Alicia didn't like it at all! It was so funny to see her reaction, I tried to post the video but it is not letting me, I guess it is too long. Then dinner time, baths etc...and finally time to relax!A glass of wine....life is good. Thanks to my hubby for a wonderful Mother's day. I love my family.
Adoro a mi familia.
